Japon : L’Empereur n’est pas mort, vive l’Empereur !

Le 30 avril 2019, l’empereur Heisei (Akihito) a abdiqué, comme annoncé de longue date, pour raison de santé, laissant le trône à son fils Naruhito et ouvrant ainsi l’ère Reiwa 命和. Le choix de ce nom, fait par le gouvernement, a été longuement pesé.

On April 30th Emperor Heisei (Akihito), 85,  abdicated in favour of his son Naruhito,  thus opening the new Reiwa era. The choice of the two characters composing the name of the new era and sovereign was long weighed by the Government for their multiple possible meanings.
