Trois candidats se présentent aux élections présidentielles qui se tiendront en Indonésie le 14 février prochain : Prabowo Subianto (actuel ministre de la Défense), Anies Baswedan (ancien gouverneur de Jakarta) et Ganjar Pranowo (ancien gouverneur de Java). Des trois, Prabowo est le favori. Son parcours cependant surprend et peut laisser dubitatif sur sa capacité à diriger le plus grand archipel au monde. Plus étonnant encore : le soutien du président sortant, Joko Widodo dont le fils aîné, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, se présente sur le même ticket à la vice-présidence.
Three candidates are contesting the presidential elections to be held in Indonesia on February 14: Prabowo Subianto (current Minister of Defense), Anies Baswedan (former Governor of Jakarta) and Ganjar Pranowo (former Governor of Java). Of the three, Prabowo is the favorite. His track record, however, is surprising and may leave some doubting his ability to lead the world’s largest archipelago. Even more problematic is the support of outgoing President Joko Widodo, whose eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is running on the same ticket for Vice-President.
